Supported POS

Which POS does CineScope read from?

RTS and Veezi. A connected cinema's showtimes and ticket numbers come across every ten minutes, and the Programming page checks each feed is keeping up before it believes the numbers. Other POS systems are not supported yet.

What comes across

Showtimes

Every performance on sale: the film, the auditorium and the start time. Films are matched by name and created when they are new; shows for a room CineScope has never heard of are counted and set aside rather than inventing a room.

Ticket sales and occupancy

Seats sold and seats remaining for each show, where the POS account is set up to share them. From those come occupancy, sold-out houses and, with Today selected, live occupancy for the houses played so far.

Presales

Each run's sales before it plays are recorded day by day and kept for 400 days, so this year's opening can be set beside last year's at the same distance out. The staffing forecast and the weekly schedule drafts are built on the same ticket numbers.

Connected per cinema

The account admin connects each cinema: an RTS site ID and API account, or a Veezi access token and region. A saved password or token is never shown again. The feed covers shows still on sale, so past sales can be backfilled from a POS export.

Ticket figures are shown only to the account admin and to admins who have been given access to sales.

A synced schedule mirrors the POS

While a cinema's POS sync is on, its schedule in CineScope is the POS's, and editing it by hand is off — a change would be overwritten by the next sync. CineScope never writes showtimes into the POS. So planning happens beside it. The Showtime Optimizer gives a synced cinema a separate week to build by hand on the same grid — with the Seat count Optimizer saying how many tickets it puts on sale — saved privately until it is pushed to the managers to key into the POS.

Every comparison on the Programming page is a share of admissions, so a cinema whose feed has gone quiet would look like a cinema that stopped selling. So each cinema's sync is checked first. One with no successful sync for 26 hours, by default, has its rows marked as behind, and one with ticket numbers for too little of its schedule is flagged — flagged, not dropped, so you can see which buildings to look at.

Without a POS, or on a different one

A cinema with no POS connected keeps its week in the Showtime scheduler by hand, with the Seat count Optimizer saying how many tickets the timetable puts on sale. Everything that does not need ticket numbers works the same: guest issue reporting, the case monitor, inspections, QR placards, film and visit ratings, invoices, announcements, guides and the AI Assistant. Occupancy, the Programming page, the staffing forecast and the weekly schedule drafts need ticket numbers, and those come from the POS.

POS questions

Which POS systems does CineScope support?

RTS and Veezi. Other POS systems are not supported yet; if you use one, email support@cinescope.org and tell us which.

What does CineScope read from the POS?

Every performance on sale — the film, the auditorium and the start time — and, where the POS account shares them, the seats sold and remaining for each show. Occupancy, presales, the Programming page, the staffing forecast and the weekly schedule drafts are all built from those. The feed is read every ten minutes.

Can we edit a synced cinema's schedule in CineScope?

No. While the POS sync is on, the schedule mirrors the POS and editing it by hand is off, because the next sync would overwrite it. Plan the next week in the Showtime Optimizer instead and push it to the managers to key into the POS. CineScope never writes showtimes into the POS.

What happens if the POS stops reporting?

The last good schedule stays rather than going blank. On the Programming page, a cinema with no successful sync for 26 hours, by default, has its rows marked as behind rather than believed, and one that reports ticket numbers for too little of its schedule is flagged too, so a quiet feed is not mistaken for a cinema that stopped selling.

Can we use CineScope without a POS?

Yes. Keep the week's showtimes in the Showtime scheduler by hand, and guest reporting, the case monitor, inspections, QR placards, ratings, invoices, announcements, guides and the AI Assistant all work. Occupancy, the Programming page, the staffing forecast and the schedule drafts need ticket numbers, which come from the POS.

Who can see ticket sales from the POS?

The account admin, and admins who have been given access to sales. General managers and maintenance accounts never see ticket figures; on the staffing page, a manager sees each day's busiest hours instead.

What the ticket numbers drive is on programming, scheduling and staffing. Back to all features.
